There has been a sudden surge of Pure Vegetarian Restaurants on Jubilee Hills Road No.36. After the opening of Quattro a few months back, Tatva restaurant joins that list too and is already getting a lot of attention. A venture by Hotel Rajdhani group, Tatva Hyderabad with Chef Naveen is unlike the other pure vegetarian restaurants in Hyderabad.
The place has been done really well with 2 different seating options. One is a classy ethnic setting with chic furniture and dim lights. The other one is more casual and biker-café themed with couches and lot of art all around. This setting at Tatva Hyderabad can be thought of as a family section and friends section.
The Tatva Menu
World Cuisines on offer in a Menu loaded with some brilliant options.
Salads at Tatva Restaurant –
Started off with the Waldorf Salad which looked a million bucks. Loaded with apples and walnuts, the dressing made it very smooth.
Beetroot and Orange Salad description makes it very tempting. So many elements put into the salad with poached beetroot and orange caviar. Feta and red currant complete the set up
Starters on Tatva Menu –
Vegetarian starters need to do a lot more and at Tatva Hyderabad, they sure do! Kamalkakdi Ke Galouti is their take on the famous kebabs. The consistency is very similar and the taste was top notch.
Falafal and Hummus is one combo you don’t mind eating at vegetarian restaurants in Hyderabad. Here it was with a twist in the way it is server. Assembled of sorts to be popper right it. That hummus was beautiful.
Thai sticks are usually meaty but here we have the Thai Shashlik Paneer carrying similar flavours and plated to perfection.
A very new addition here is the Crackling Spinach. It is really tough to cook given how soon it can go from crackling to burnt, and I loved the sweet-bitter flavour. Smoked Pesto Paneer Tikka brings a smokey element to the ususal Paneer Tikka at Tatva restaurant. A dish to be ordered for the presentation for sure.
Another simple dish would be Jalepeno Poppers which have a really nice balance of flavours.
They also have an option for Jains and Makai Ke Tikki is one such option that can be made suited for Jain diets.
Main Course Menu at Tatva Hyderabad –
A lot of thought has gone into putting up such a vast menu and Cannelloni Florentine adds to that. That layer of melted cheese on top is just delightful.
When a non-vegetarian feels adventurous, he orders the Tatva Jain Burger. If it was looks, you cannot tell apart a meaty or Jain burger. Textures are all there, but you still miss the meaty kick.
For the Indian Main Course, there was Parda Paneer and Kamalkakdi Lababdar. With so much Kamalkakdi going on, this might just be the new meat replacement for Vegetarian Restaurants in Hyderabad.
On the oriental front we have Burnt Garlic Fried Rice and Hot Bean Tofu. So for people looking at exploring multiple cuisines, this does work out really well.
Drinks at Tatva Hyderabad Restaurant –
Special mention for the vast range of drinks available on the menu. The guy mixing it is a genius and comes up with super suggestions. Their Hot Toddy is like the perfect solution to any craving. Loaded with so many flavours and all coming together perfectly.
Tatva Desserts –
The menu has so many of them that one is spoilt for choices.
Anything with Pan becomes an instant hit and so does Paan Tantra. Lot of showmanship with smoke and presentation but taste wins it all.
Tres Leche has become big on all menus now and people keep twisting around. Here at Tatva, Chef Naveen gives it a fizzy twist with a cake soaked in Coca-Cola.
You hear mousse and think of a flowy dish. The Chocolate Mousse here is dense, rich and just perfect.
Plated to perfection the Baked Cheese Cake stays authentic and tastes amazing too.
Hyderabadi sweets are complete when you have Apricot Delight. Served in a Martini glass and topped with cream, this one ticks off all the right spot.
Hats off to Chef Naveen for bringing this all together and the food really is as good as it gets. I was apprehensive about visiting a Pure Vegetarian Restaurant in Hyderabad, but this was just too good. Ate to my hearts content and the variety of food is commendable. For sure Tatva restaurant would easily feature in the best vegetarian restaurants in Hyderabad.
